Due to last night's severe weather conditions, East Chilliwack Elementary, Little Mountain Elementary, Sardis Elementary, Sardis Secondary, and Cheam Elementary are currently without power, and BC Hydro has not yet provided a timeline for restoration. With the buildings cold and unsafe for learning, we've made the difficult decision to close these sites to staff and students for the day. We understand this may create challenges for families, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. The safety and comfort of our students and staff remains our top priority. Thank you for your understanding and flexibility during this unexpected situation.

Bussing are running and all other schools are open.

East Chilliwack Elementary School Update:

East Chilliwack Elementary School is closed today, March 12, 2026, because of a power outage.  Students who reported to school this morning have been bussed to Rosedale Traditional Community School for the day.  Parents who are able to pick up their children may do so at Rosedale.  Afternoon bus service will be running as normal, and East Chilliwack students will be able to ride the bus home from Rosedale if they are not picked up by their parents.
