Expectations:
Attendance - Attendance in ALL classes is a requirement of Summer Learning. If you know your child will be missing any days, please do not register.
Tardiness - Students must be on time for class so they do not disrupt the learning process (being late after a break is also included). Two unexcused lates will equal one absence.
Behaviour – All regular school district rules and consequences apply pertaining to language, dress code, and conduct. Chilliwack Senior Secondary and surrounding areas are smoke-free.
Class work and homework – To pass your Summer Learning course(s), you will have to work hard. Middle school students will be expected to complete all assigned work on time and will be held accountable for all homework and other assignments. It is reasonable to expect that for every hour in class at least one additional hour of homework is required.
Closed Campus - Summer Learning is a Closed Campus and all visitors on site must have pre-approval from our Administrative Team to be on school grounds during school hours.
**Course Cancellation: If the course does not have sufficient enrollment you will be notified by June 6th, 2025.**
I have read the Summer Learning expectations and agree to review them with my student. I realize that if my student violates any of these expectations, their placement in Summer Learning may be jeopardized.
Our school utilizes a variety of tools to keep our school community informed about news and events. In addition to traditional tools—newsletters, phone calls, local papers, and websites we will also use social media platforms such as Twitter and Facebook. We aim to develop stronger partnerships with the community we serve by joining you in these popular digital spaces.
We also like to celebrate the successes of our students in all of our communications. There are times when we will share photos or video clips from important school events such as dances, performances, athletic events, or interesting classroom activities. We also like to praise students who are doing remarkable things in and beyond our classrooms. We believe that we build stronger communities when we take the time to spotlight the positive work of our children.
We respect your right to privacy. Therefore we are asking you which practices you give us permission to use in our school-based communication efforts:
