With two months remaining until the civic elections in BC, the BC School Trustees Association has released A Guide for 2014 School Trustee Candidates.  The Guide is a tool to help potential school trustee candidates navigate important topics such as filing for nomination, financing and campaigning.

2014 School Trustee Election


The next School Trustee election is Saturday, November 15, 2014.  This coincides with the election for Mayor and City Council, and is organized for the School District by the City of Chilliwack.  The candidate nomination period is Tuesday, September 30th to Friday, October 10th at 4:00 pm.

2013 School Trustee By-Election

The Board of Education has announced a By-Election to replace outgoing Trustee, Louise Piper.  The nomination period for the By-Election will run from October 15 – 25th, 2013.  General voting will take place November 30th, 2013 with advance voting days set for November 20th and 27th, 2013.

New Secretary-Treasurer Appointment

The Chilliwack Board of Education is pleased to announce that Gerry Slykhuis has been appointed as Secretary-Treasurer for the Chilliwack School District effective September 3, 2013. 

Yarrow Community School - Officially Opened

A celebration was held on March 8th to officially open the Yarrow Community Elementary School.  Chilliwack MLA John Les, the Board of Education and residents celebrated this joyous occasion with students, who highlighted their local history in a drama production with community groups.
