CTA Bargaining Updates

April 25, 2019

  • The bargaining teams for the Chilliwack School District and the Chilliwack Teachers' Association met and exchanged proposals.  The parties are planning to meet again early next week to continue negotiations.

CUPE Bargaining Updates

  April 23, 2019

  • The bargaining teams for the Chilliwack School District and the Canadian Union of Public Employees have commenced negotiations.  The parties met and agreed to a Protocol Agreement.  This Protocol Agreement sets the stage for the bargaining process.  Future meeting dates have been booked for April, May and June.

Provincial Updates

BCPSEA / BCTF

The British Columbia Public School Employers Association and The British Columbia Teachers' Association commenced negotiations in February.  The bargaining teams continue to meet on a regular basis and are working towards having an agreement in place by June 2019.

AD Rundle Middle School Integrated Arts and Technology Cohort (grade 6 - 8)

The Chilliwack School District is pleased to offer an Integrated Arts and Technology opportunity at AD Rundle Middle School beginning September 2020 for students in grades 6 - 8.

School Bus Safety Tips

For Drivers

  • The large AMBER alternating flashing lights warn motorists that the school bus is about to stop to either load or unload students; slow and stop if it is safe to do so.
  • The large RED alternating flashing lights warn motorists to STOP as the school bus is either loading or unloading students.
  • Drivers must STOP in either direction whenever you see flashing RED lights on a school bus.
  • After stopping for a school bus, don't start moving again until the bus moves on or the driver signals that it's safe by turning off the lights and pulling

The Chilliwack School District has a detailed plan for Inclement Weather which covers interruptions to bussing service, school and site closures, and a Transportation Snow Plan for high elevations. Always check our main page, www.sd33.bc.ca for updates during periods of inclement weather.
