A growing school district located in the beautiful Fraser Valley, Chilliwack offers an opportunity for a skilled Human Resources professional to join a dynamic and forward looking senior team and Governance Board of Education engaged in the advancement of the education program for all students in the school district.
As a key member of our senior staff you will work closely with top decision-makers to lead and develop a strong HR team. You will use your excellent judgment and interpersonal skills to lead staff from all levels and disciplines in “Best Practices” of Human Resources. In addition to day-to-day leadership, you’ll also take responsibility for the strategic direction of the department by directing the budget and planning process and implementing and evaluating the district’s HR policies.
Building upon an established platform of sound HR practice and innovation, you will provide visionary and skilled leadership to the continued advancement of the Human Resources Department to support the goals and objectives of the District. You will build the capacity of the HR Team and other leaders to meet the challenges that come to a complex organization. You are a strong, energetic Human Resources professional, exemplified by your CPHR (CHRP) designation. You are a person who can build and maintain dynamic work teams that support the employees in the district.
You have the courage, ability and skills that provides operational and technical advice to the leaders across the organization. You have had successful implementation of HR organizational initiatives and have been part of the development and delivery of a HR strategic plan that is linked to the organizations goals and objectives.
With strong positive interpersonal skills, you can influence, innovate, build and maintain strong relationships with multiple stakeholders and employ HR industry best practices in helping to create organizations that positively move forward.
Using your innate ability to see the big picture while understanding the details, you will be able to successfully link our educational aspirations with our corporate necessities. This talent will also be behind your ability to identify areas of improvement and bring forward innovative new ideas and approaches. You can mentor and train others to increase general and specific Human Resources knowledge across the school district. You have exemplary technical skills and are adept at using several different tools to provide the necessary data to make thoughtful decisions while at the same time can entertain divergent opinions to optimize engagement of all staff.
With a reputation for honest, direct and proactive communication, you will be an excellent representative of the district, building strong, respectful alliances with our partners and stakeholders. You will have had excellent relations with union partners and have managed labour issues, collective bargaining, and workplace investigations.
